We introduced Grasshopper shoes in the early 1970s as part of the Keds family, born from a desire to create something the footwear world was missing — a truly comfortable casual shoe that looked as polished as it felt. While Keds had already earned its reputation as the original American sneaker, we saw an opportunity to build a line of shoes specifically engineered for easy, all-day comfort in everyday settings.
Our first Grasshopper shoes were an instant hit.
